The iPhone 15 has been unveiled at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event in Cupertino. It features familiar elements like the Dynamic Island cutout, now available across the entire lineup.
A noteworthy addition is the updated port – USB-C, joining the standard used by most other smartphones. This move was influenced by EU regulations requiring connector standardization, which benefits consumers. The old Lightning port was showing its age and wasn’t ideal from the start.
Dynamic Island now offers new features, including airline information. The iPhone 15 comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display (6.7 inches for the Plus model) and a 48-megapixel main camera using pixel binning for high-res images. The 2x telephoto zoom delivers better image quality.
Machine learning detects people or pets (cats and dogs) in the frame for the bokeh effect. Smart HDR mode is enhanced using depth sensing in the front-facing camera for richer colors.
The device runs on the A16 bionic chip with a six-core GPU and includes Ultra Wideband for improved FindMy functionality. Voice isolation is better, and satellite connectivity introduces Roadside Service in collaboration with AAA.
The iPhone 15 is available in yellow, green, blue, black, and pink.
